Back in the blogging saddle...albeit briefly

Greetings my friends...
Family issues have greatly decreased my time in the blogosphere and so I can honestly say that I feel for Jacque Chirac and his profound malaise. Let me just say it is good to be back and it's really saying something when returning to fight the Islamic jihad one keystroke at a time is like a day in the park.
Wouldn't you know I'd be out of pocket with all that is going on the world. I'm convinced that it's planetary.
It is the Frosty Beaver Full Moon, you know.

Full Beaver Moon - November This was the time to set beaver traps before the swamps froze, to ensure a supply of warm winter furs. Another interpretation suggests that the name Full Beaver Moon comes from the fact that the beavers are now actively preparing for winter. It is sometimes also referred to as the Frosty Moon.

Well, I live on a pond in the Jersey swamps with a thriving beaver population. The swamps haven't froze and it's illegal to trap. Alas, because the beavers really take out a lot of trees over the course of a season. This is just about the time we start seeing them. But enough about beavers, eh? Let's talk polygamy and profound malaise.

Ze French, zey are steel looking for ze root causes to their social unrest. It's that charming muslim custom, polygamy. I had read somewhere about polygamy resulting in single parent homes with absent fathers just after the "profound malaise" broke out and France went up in smoke.
French minister says polygamy to blame for riots. (So many clicks, so few brain cells.) The fathers, return to their sub Saharan Muslim countries and leave their families to the care of the much vaunted French welfare system.
Here's a few bites:
France’s employment minister on Tuesday fingered polygamy as one reason for the rioting in the country. GĂ©rard Larcher said multiple marriages among immigrants was one reason for the racial discrimination which ethnic minorities faced in the job market. Overly large polygamous families sometimes led to anti-social behaviour among youths who lacked a father figure, making employers wary of hiring ethnic minorities, he explained.
Although polygamy is illegal in France, visas were granted freely to family members of immigrants until 1993, when visas were banned for more than one spouse. Many wives continued to enter illegally, however and a clampdown, if enforced, could affect families that entered the country before 1993.
Politicians estimate there are 10,000-20,000 polygamous families in France, most from North and sub-Saharan African countries such as Algeria, Mali and Senegal, where the practice is legal. Polygamy is a taboo subject for most mainstream French politicians. Far-right groups, however, have seized on it to argue that immigrants abuse the French social security system by collecting state benefits for several wives.

This is good news here. Another Jihadi bites the dust.
'Jihadist' computer expert cleared for extradition to US
First arrested by British police in December 2003 but released without charge, Mr Ahmad is accused of running a network of websites from 1997 to 2004 that supported "terrorist causes" in Afghanistan and elsewhere.
On www.azzam.com, a website he allegedly ran from an address in Fountain Road, Tooting, Mr Ahmad told readers that: "Muslims must use every means at their disposal to undertake military and physical training for jihad."
The US Government alleges that Mr Ahmad posted firearms training and travel advice for young Muslims seeking to fight in Chechnya and Afghanistan and sought to raise money for the Taleban and Chechen rebel groups. He is also accused of distributing CDs and videos glorifying jihad
According to his indictment, e-mails from Mr Ahmad's accounts included "discussions regarding donations; shipments of gas masks; procurement of night vision goggles; safe routes into Afghanistan and the type of personnel needed to support the jihad".

This is not good news here: 173 Sunnis freed from secret Iraqi torture bunker

Tell it Brother!

It's become all about the Aussie's tonight. I'm taking my good news where I can find it and hearing someone speak so plainly and clearly is really news! You go, Mate! Accept our law or leave: Costello

TREASURER Peter Costello said radical Muslims would not be allowed to turn Australia into an Islamic state.

Mr Costello said Muslims who wanted to live in a country governed by sharia law, which imposes strict limitations on freedoms, would be better off living elsewhere.
"If you are somebody who wants to live in an Islamic state governed by sharia law you are not going to be happy in Australia, because Australia is not an Islamic state, will never be an Islamic state and will never be governed by sharia law," Mr Costello said.

"We are a secular state under our constitution, our law is made by parliament elected in democratic elections.

"We do not derive our laws from religious instruction."

Mr Costello said anyone who was alienated by Australia's form of government, judicial system and civil rights and wanted something else "might be better advised to find the 'something else' somewhere else".

"There are Islamic states around the world that practise sharia law and if that's your object you may well be much more at home in such a country than trying to turn Australia into one of those countries, because it's not going to happen," he said.

Live by the bomb. Die by the bomb.

Isn't it ironic?
Palestinian spy chief killed in blast

THE head of the Palestinian intelligence services, Bashir Nafeh, was among those killed in a blast that shook a hotel in the Jordanian capital, a top Palestinian diplomat said. "Bashir Nafeh was killed in the attack on the Grand Hyatt hotel," charge d'affaires Atallah Khairy said.

How long before the Jooos get blamed? Haaretz is already spreading some cock and bull story. I won't dignify it with an appearance so click here if you want to read it. Suffice to say, it is way out there with the "no Jews died in 9/11" conspiracy meme.

Neighbors patrol riot-scarred French towns

ASNIERES, France - As night falls, residents-turned-sentinels are setting off on rounds of their riot-hit towns looking to prevent more arson and attacks. Several towns in the suburbs of Paris and elsewhere are organizing themselves to restore order after France's worst violence since the May 1968 student riots. Unlike police, the key to their success is gentle persuasion and a watchful eye.

"We are not Rambos!" Manuel Aeschliman, the mayor of this town northwest of Paris, reminds a dozen volunteers as they set off for their rounds. "No intervention: If you see something, call it in."

Hmm. Day 13? They're no Rambos that's for sure.

Ahmadinejan waiting for 12th imam to return from his occultation...

Second coming for imam is first concern for Iranian president

At the mosque of Jamkaran, 110km south of Tehran and just east of the holy city of Qom, tens of thousands gather on Tuesdays to pray and drop messages for the "missing" imam into a well. Abul-Qassem Mohammed, the 12th leader whom Shia Muslims regard as a successor to the prophet Mohammed, entered "occultation" in 941 and will one day return to rule justly before Judgment Day.

In the women's section by Jamkaran's well, Mina, 18, faints, only slowly regaining consciousness and whispering. "Last night she dreamed the 12th Imam asked her to come," says an older female relative. "Don't interrupt, she is talking to the Imam."

Pilgrims then take small pieces of Mina's green scarf torn up by her relatives.

Veneration of the 12th Imam is common among Iran's 68m population, whose religious practices mix piety, respect for learned clerics and age-old mysticism. But the new president, Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad, has placed a special emphasis on the 12th Imam, even referring to him in his October United Nations speech.

Wait. It gets nuttier...
Three months after Mr Ahmadi-Nejad became president, whispers about his view of the 12th Imam are growing. According to one rumour, as mayor of Tehran he drew up a new city plan for the imam's return.

The culture ministry last month denied the government had dropped a letter pledging loyalty into Jamkaran well. But an early cabinet decision allocated the equivalent of $17m for Jamkaran. And Mr Ahmadi-Nejad's promises to eliminate injustice, corruption and unemployment have more sense of "heaven on earth" than mundane government targets.

"His behaviour shows he has more important goals than politics," says Mr Abtahi. "He speaks with the confidence of someone who has received God's word. Whether genuine or a means to power, this is a new discourse for the Iranian revolution."

Some senior clergy are alarmed. Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami, a conservative, has attacked maddahs for singing about dreams and "fake meetings" with the imam.

In foreign policy, officials worry an emphasis on the 12th Imam not only puzzles Europe and Russia while Iran tries to revive talks over its nuclear programme but alienates Sunni, a majority in the Muslim world, who do not share the Shia view of the Imam's return.

The consequences of Mr Ahmadi-Nejad's religiosity are also uncertain for Ayatollah Khamenei, to whom many look to rein in the president. "So far, the leader has seen Mr Ahmadi-Nejad as loyal, someone who should reach the 12th Imam through him," says a senior reformist. "But this is an unstable situation."

"Mr Ahmadi-Nejad's project must fail," says Mr Abtahi. "He is caught in the paradox of those who understand religious mystery in a physical [literal] way. Of course, we must pray for the return of the imam, but [in government] we must also tackle inflation and unemployment."

And wiping Israel off the map. Oh, and the United States, too.

Here's a little tidbit about the Imam:
THE AWAITED ONE Imam: THE TWELVETH HOLY IMAM(as)
Name: MOHAMMAD(as)

AL-SAHIB Al-ZAMMAAN(as)

Born: On Friday, 15th of Shaban, 225 AH
in Samarra, northern Iraq
Father: The Eleventh Imam Hassan Al-Askari(as)
Mother: Nargis Khatoon
Date of Death: Unknow as he is still living and waiting God's Divine Order to make himself known to the world and fight injustice and instigate justice, law and order for all mankind!
Cause of Death: Killed by a dagger in his chest thrusted by an old Jewish woman.
Buried: Will be buried in Karbala, Iraq

Ahmadinejad still shaking things up on the home front

Latest Iranian oil minister nominee withdraws

Prezzy Mahmound is not having an easy time of it with the homeboys, is he?

Iran was still without an oil minister on Wednesday after the latest nominee of President Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad withdrew shortly before a parliamentary vote.
Sadeq Mahsouli, a close presidential ally, told Mr Ahmadi-Nejad in a letter read out in parliament he was pulling out because “the nominee should get a very high vote”.
Parliament had been expected to block Mr Mahsouli after influential deputies, including the head of the parliamentary energy commission, had raised his lack of managerial experience and questioned the probity of his role in arranging oil swaps with central Asian republics.

Mr Mahsouli was the third name linked with the post and his demise means Opec’s second largest producer has been without an oil minister for the three months since Mr Ahmadi-Nejad took office after winning an election on “bringing oil money to people’s sofreh (dining cloth)”.

Mr Ahmadi-Nejad told parliament on Wednesday he had wanted to nominate Mr Mahsouli last August – when parliament rejected four of his original nominations – but that Mr Mahsouli had turned down his invitation after estekhareh, a means of seeking divine guidance through opening at random the Muslim holy book, the Koran."

An oil minister for Iran is deciding oil exports by rolling the bones with Mohammed? Sheesh.

This piqued my interest. Follow the money people...

It has emerged in recent days that Mr Ahmadi-Nejad is to replace the managing directors of seven state banks.

There has been no word of change at the top of two specialised banks – the Export Development Bank and the Industries and Mines Bank – and at Iran’s central bank, which has pushed in recent years for greater independence. “I’d like to say the leader will protect the central bank against the president,” said a senior banker. “But now I’m not so sure. A week ago I thought he would protect the managing directors of the state banks.”

This totally sucks...

Blair loses vote for Anti-Terror measure.

He said he hoped MPs "do not rue the day" they rejected his call to allow police to detain terror suspects for up to 90 days without charging them.

MPs voted against by 322 votes to 291, with 49 Labour MPs rebelling.

I do too.

Good news if true - Bali Bomber bites the big one

Irony of Ironies. Iranians calling for probe of France.

Who says God doesn't have a sense of humor, people? Not only is snooty, haughty France quickly becoming Europe's Brochette Diane Flambe it looks like the unrest cooking in their banlieues has landed them in the dhimmi soup with their Iranian buddies too.

TEHRAN, Nov. 6 (MNA) -- Iran’s Association of Muslim Journalists (AMJ) issued a statement on Sunday condemning the violation of Muslims’ civil rights in France and calling on the French government to cooperate with them in establishing a fact-finding commission in order to investigate the conditions of French Muslims.
The AMJ said that the mistreatment of Black French Muslims over the past two weeks has deeply influenced Iranian public opinion.

You can read it all here. But let's just cut to the chase. It's all about the Jooooos!

“We suppose that the French government has carried out the recent discriminatory and anti-human rights acts under the influence of the Zionist lobby in France to limit the social and personal freedoms of the Muslims residing in the country, which is quite unacceptable on the part of a country that claims to be democratic,” part of the statement read.

Why my family is like France. We both have a failure to communicate.

My trips back to the midwest also mean no internet access, so I have been trying to catch up with everything. Funny, how when I start getting it dialed in I find that we are dealing with the same kind of problem in France as I am in the good old midwest.

What we have here is a failure to communicate.

The French Government, the MSM and various pundits continue to assert that the "rebellious youth" turning France into a flambe are motivated by their downtrodden existence and poor economic conditions not Islamism. This despite video footage of them screaming Allahu Ackbar, interviews stating they were going to make Paris another Baghdad, and this Fox News Report from Greg Palkot. Read it. It's written in an entertaining style and presents a good summary of the situation.

But back to our failure to communicate. Everyone knows a key part in communication is active listening, mais non? Well, someone wasn't listening because the French themselves warned of an uprising in the run up to their current run of becoming the bananas foster of Europe. Read this:

French police investigating plans by a group of Islamic extremists to attack targets in Paris discovered last month that the group was recruiting French citizens to train in the Middle East and return home to carry out terrorist attacks, sources familiar with the investigation said.

Now, what was that thing about Baghdad again?
In the interest of the "two sides to every story" angle. Here's this:
As rioting that began in a poor, mostly Muslim, neighborhood near Paris a week ago continues to spread to other suburbs and cities across France and parts of Europe, U.S. experts and at least one American lawmaker believe radical Islam is most likely responsible for the chaos.

Turbulence at Home and Abroad

Oh dear readers! Pardon my absence. A two day trip back to the family unit in the midwest turned into a week plus of family dysfunction. Jacques C, I feel your pain, bud. I think there's definitely something in the air because it seems to be happening everywhere. Even Jennifer Aniston's world is imploding. boo-freaking hoo.

Back to my own brand of nuclear family dysfunction, let's just say it is ongoing and that means a blotty blog schedule for Dinah. It's a relief to be back blogging for now though. Who knew ideologically skewering the Islamist menace could be so restful?
