Madrid Bombing suspect rounded up in Belgrade.

BELGRADE — A Moroccan suspected of involvement in the Madrid train bombings has been arrested in Belgrade.

The interior ministry named the suspect as Abdelmajid Bouchar, 22, and has asked for him to be extradited to Spain.

He was picked up by Serbian police when he presented false Iraqi identity papers during a routine check, it said.

Today in the Victorian Supreme Court, Mr Thomas's defence counsel, Lex Lasry QC, said his team did not have guaranteed funding to continue with the case. "We, as we sit here, are not able to commit ourselves to be in the trial," he said.

Justice Philip Cummins said he appreciated legal aid money was limited, but urged that the funding of two lawyers for the case continue "in the interest of justice".
