Josephine Burgin, head of planning for the station in Qatar from April 2005 to April 2007, claims racial, sexual and religious discrimination.

Miss Burgin, of Derbyshire and London, said she was 'humiliated, deeply hurt and professionally smeared' when her contract was not renewed.

Al Jazeera told the tribunal it had concerns over her ability.
