US intelligence sources have indicated that US counter-terror analysts were looking at what they felt were “changes” in targeting and methodological doctrine by al-Qaida-linked jihadist terrorist groups. In particular, the translations of the information on the website which provided the basis for the assessment were believed to highlight a new “low-tech terrorism” against targets in the West.
