Iran: First it was Benetton, now Louis Vuitton and D&G also banned.

Cultural penetration can be soooo sexy.

Accused of being the "instruments of the cultural penetration of the corrupt West".

After warning over the presence of Italian clothing retailer Benetton in Iran, Iranian parliamentarians have now set their sights on top labels, Dolce & Gabbana and Louis Vuitton.

The president of the Majlis or Iranian parliament and four members of the parliament's culture commission have called for seven stores in Iran selling Benetton products to be shut down. The MPs reportedly said that the clothes were a bad influence on female consumers and they also called Luciano Benetton, the main stakeholder in the company, "a Zionist".

The same group of prominent MPs has now also asked for a ban on the sale of products made by top fashion labels Dolce & Gabbana and Louis Vuitton.

The two brands have been accused of "promoting cultures foreign to Islam" and of being "the instruments of the cultural penetration of the corrupt West".
