Not my lovely diggers!
God bless Australia and God bless their troops. IMO we owe them a debt of gratitude that will take a long time to repay....
So you can imagine that reading this Terrorist leader urges followers to target diggers left me very steamed. (tip of the Australian Slouch aka Digger hat to the fine folks over at Fortress Australia Outpost)
THE founder of the Iraqi terrorist militia Ansar al-Islam has called on his followers to kill Australian troops and their civilian support staff in Iraq, and defended his group's murder of Najmaddin Faraj Ahmad, who is commonly known as Mullah Krekar, has told the ABC's Foreign Correspondent program: "It is allowed for me to kill Australian soldiers in Iraq. It is allowed for me in Islam to kill his translator, to kill the people which give him food and water, give him medicine. All of them is in the line of the war." Australian cameraman Paul Moran, killed by a suicide bomber in northern Iraq in March 2003.
From the ABC Foreign Correspondent website:
Alleged Iraqi terrorist Mullah Krekar faces almost certain execution if deported to Iraq from his safe haven in Oslo, but he’s beaten all attempts by Norway to imprison or deport him and also foiled a CIA kidnap attempt.Mullah Krekar, created the radical islamic guerrilla force, Ansar al Islam, now known as Ansar Al Sunna. It’s affiliated to Al Qaeda. Now confident of his position in Norway, Krekar makes extraordinary admissions. He admits training a unit of suicide bombers who have since slaughtered hundreds of men, women and children.
There's more:
The Norwegian Government says Krekar has breached asylum conditions, is a threat to national security and want him out of the country. But after six years of court cases, Krekar isn’t going anywhere. Norwegian law prohibits deportation to countries that have the death penalty or engage in torture. The United States Treasury department maintains that Krekar, despite his denials, stills commands fighters in Iraq. It describes him as an Al Qaeda facilitator who covertly funds Ansar operations through a European network.
Meanwhile back in Norway, the dhimmis are dithering: Authorities mum on Krekar's latest provocation
A government spokesperson told news bureau NTB that Norwegian officials are finished with his case, and had no comment on the latest batch of controversial remarks Krekar reportedly made to an Australian television station.
At least there's still this possibility: Krekar faces house arrest
Norwegian authorities will likely restrict mullah Krekar's freedom of movement when a new Immigrant Act comes into effect. Krekar, founder of the militant Islamic Kurdish guerrilla group Ansar al-Islam, can finally be legally deported from Norway, but will not be until his home country of Iraq is considered safe by Norwegian authorities.
In the interim, Krekar will likely face a type of house arrest that will make it easier to monitor him, radio station P4 reports.
A proposal contained in the new Immigrant Act allows the government to impose a fixed abode for and regular reports from a person deemed a threat to national security. A recent Supreme Court ruling confirmed that there were grounds to assess Krekar a threat to national security.
"The proposal means that Krekar may also be forbidden from staying at certain locations," said state secretary at the Ministry of Labor and Social Inclusion Libe Rieber-Mohn.
"We want to increase security. At the same time, we cannot intern people like Krekar because it would violate international conventions," Rieber-Mohn said.
House arrest with no damn internet, thank you very much. Also in the interview:
He (Krekar) explains how through the internet, he calls on supporters to kill Australian and American troops in Iraq.
