Tae Kwon Do and the Hijab - Canada caves.

Tae Kwon Do Championship to allow the hijab.

The Muslim hijab, banned at a taekwondo tournament in Quebec last month, will be allowed at the 2007 World Championship in Quebec City later this month, the International Taekwon-Do Federation announced on Friday.

The decision by a Quebec federation last month to bar a team of Muslim girls from taking part with their hijabs at the regional tournament had prompted protests of discrimination, but Quebec federation officials said it was a matter of safety.

That group was affiliated with the World Taekwondo Federation, a rival group to the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF), which said on Friday it would temporarily allow the head scarves at its May 31-June 3 championship.

There's really nothing left for me to say about this disgusting display of dhimmitude.

What's wrong with this picture?

In Iran, they are protesting against wearing the veil.
In Canada, they are protesting in support of women who do...

IRAN: UNIVERSITY FEMALE STUDENTS REBEL AGAINST VEIL

Female students at Tehran Polytechnic University, where students protested against Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during a visit last December crying 'dictator go away' and throwing firecrackers, are staging a major protest against new regulations enabling police as of 21 April to arrest women who do not abide by the Islamic dress code.

A group of 700 female students organized a rally on campus and signed a letter to the dean calling the new rules "an offence to the dignity of women" and accusing him of "wanting to extend to academia the sexual apartheid imposed by the government on Iranian society."

Authorities immediately reacted on Thursday withdrawing the students' university ID cards which are mandatory to access campus and classes. The students will now have to face a disciplinary commission which will decide whether they will be allowed to continue their studies or be expelled. On Wednesday, Iran's police chief, Gen. Ahmad Moghaddam, said that women who do not wear the veil and don't abide by the Muslim dress code "are tools of the enemy, who tries to destroy the system by spreading a cuture which goes against Islamic values."

Hijab wearing Tae Kwan Do team get booted

How ridiculous is this?

Quebec. That hotbed of Muslim hijab sporting activity is in the news again. This time it's a Tae Kwan Do team that was wearing the curtains.

The Globe and Mail come to the pity party loaded for bear.

Five young girls were suddenly thrust into Quebec's controversy over the rights of religious minorities yesterday when they weren't allowed to compete in a local tae kwon do meet unless they removed their Islamic head scarves. The girls, between the ages of 10 and 14, had trained for days and were eagerly anticipating competing for medals at the competition in Longueuil, south of Montreal. The members of the Montreal team were told they couldn't participate unless they removed their head scarves for safety reasons

They had been allowed to wear them the year before, so I can understand some of their upset. But honestly, after all the hue and cry about them with the Soccer team, didn't they think to inquire when they registered for the tournament? They go on to decry the politicization of the hijab. In response to that I would have to point them to their own Islamic leaders who urge all good Muslimahs to wear the hijab as a symbol of their jihad against the West. Kind of like the KKK and their robes.

Which has gotten me thinking. What happens to hijab wearing Muslimahs in the US of A? Hmm. Read it all here to here about 'reasonable accommodation', the backlash, oh and don't forget to call the Wah-mbulance for those poor, aggrieved girls.

Holy Creeping Dhimmitude, Batman!

Hijab Day at McMasters University...

where a professor organized a Wear My Hijab day. Women, whether Muslim or not, were invited to wear a head scarf all day to show support for those who regularly wear it...Professor Muriel Walker, who teaches French literature at Mac, organized the hijab day.

"It can be difficult for women to wear the hijab," she said. "I want this to help sensitize people about Islam ... you should not be afraid of Muslims." Walker, who moved from France 15 years ago, is not Muslim, but has worn a hijab on Fridays, an important day of prayer for Muslims, for about three months.

My head is exploding. Hijab by the numbers.

O Canada!

Another example of the way CAIR uses our media against us:
CAIR-CAN ACTION ALERT

Write Maclean's Magazine about Fear Mongering Article
Tuesday, October 31, 2006 5:38 pm

(Ottawa, Canada – Oct 31, 2006) The Canadian Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-CAN) is asking all people of conscience to write to Maclean’s Magazine.

In the October 23rd issue of Maclean’s, a provocative and Islamophobic article by Mark Steyn was printed entitled, “The future belongs to Islam.” The article’s fear mongering tone focuses on the influx of Muslim immigrants into Europe and North America through an analysis that parallels Samuel Hungtion’s infamous book, “The Clash of Civilizations.”

An excerpt from the article reads:

“Age + Welfare = Disaster for you;
Youth + Will = Disaster for whoever gets in your way… Islam has Youth and will, Europe has age and welfare.”

In criticising the Maclean’s article, Derrick O’Keefe writes, “Seen within the “War on Terror”... Steyn’s article must be understood as a deliberate, hateful and provocative act.”

ACTION REQUESTED

1. Write a 150 word letter to Maclean’s Magazine for print.

2. Or submit a two to three paragraph letter to the Maclean’s editorial board.

When writing it is critical to keep Maclean’s readership in mind and maintain a style that is calm and convincing, but firm.

TALKING POINTS

1. The article entitled “The Future belongs to Islam” is inflammatory and offensive. It does little to build bridges, it simply divides people.

2. It would be appreciated if such provocative articles are not given space and if Maclean’s maintains a balanced editorial policy.

3. Maclean’s in the past was an authoritative and respectable voice for Canadians; however, today’s Maclean’s is clearly breaking away from this tradition.

4. If Maclean’s Magazine continues to publish such articles, I will consider not renewing my subscription.

WRITE MACLEAN'S AT:

E-mail: letters@macleans.ca, adsales@macleans.ca c.c. canada@cair-net.org

Fax: 416.764.1332

Maclean's Letters
One Mount Pleasant Road
11th floor
Toronto, ON
M4Y 2Y5

When submitting letters for publication Maclean’s requests that an author’s name, address and daytime phone number be supplied for verification purposes.

To read the Maclean’s article:
To read Derrick O’Keefe’s critique.

You know what to do. Write Macleans and make YOUR opinion known.

Thinking of you Free Cyprus.

Time to wake up and smell the Canadian bacon, folks!

Looking for up to date info on the Canadian MapleLeafihadeen check out Neale News

There's this about the sound of automatic weaponry being heard at their training gigs. Nice. Real nice.

Chris Wattie, National Post
Published: Monday, June 05, 2006
WASHAGO, Ont. -- It was the bursts of automatic gunfire that made the farmer in this tiny central Ontario tourist community think something was amiss as he fed his animals after dark.

"I feed my animals at night," the farmer said yesterday. "So I'd be outside late at night and I'd hear the gunfire from over there, automatic gunfire. I'd hear rat-a-tat-a-tat-a-tat.

"I just knew there was something wrong about them. It was obvious they were doing some kind of military training."
Canadian neighbor I salute you:
Finally, late last December, one neighbour decided he had had enough and called police.

"You can tell when someone's suspicious," the man said. "They were up to no good, that's for sure."

Police quickly honed in on the camp, setting up surveillance cameras in nearby rural mailboxes and in barns overlooking the entrance to the property.
Just say No to Extreme Camping unless Canadian bacon is being served:
One resident said the men gave a thin cover story to explain their activities.

"They told [the property owner], they were doing extreme camping, whatever that's supposed to mean," the man said. "Pretty extreme camping if you ask me."

It's from CBS News so you know what that means, but it is interesting and points out the fact that the US ought to be waking up and smelling the applewood cured bacon too.
The first of the domestic incidents, all of which drew little attention at the time, began with the holdup of a string of Torrance, Calif. gas stations last summer. Muslim converts who bonded together in prison planned to use the robberies to finance attacks on 20 Army recruiting stations.
Next up:
Police in Toledo, Ohio, busted another cell in February. This one consisted of three men training to attack U.S. forces overseas. Once again, luck played a role. When they tried to enlist someone in their mosque to help, he turned them in.
And These guys:
Two months ago, a pair of Atlanta men, one a Georgia Tech engineering student, were arrested not long after communicating by e-mail with two of the suspects arrested in Canada over the weekend. The Atlanta men are charged with videotaping domestic targets, including the U.S. Capitol and the World Bank.
And don't forget the Jeep Jihadi down at Duke.

The CBS report reaches this shocking conclusion:

Analysts now conclude similarities between all the cases were dramatic: All were self-financed, self-motivated, and in each case the men were seeking out others to join their cell.

Oh there might be ONE other similarity: THEY ARE ALL FREAKING MUSLIM!!!!!
